  • Bowling Green community gathered on Saturday, Dec. 20 to honor local leader Mike Murphy — a respected mentor, businessman, and family man — whose legacy touched many lives. Warren County Judge-Executive Doug Gorman recalled Murphy’s impact on the city.  WNKY
  • Residents of Norris Court are lighting more than 2,000 luminaries to honor the Christ Child on Dec. 23 and Dec. 24 (weather permitting) as part of a long-standing Christmas tradition; the public is invited to drive through the subdivision and nearby streets using parking lights for safety.  WCLU Radio
  • A community-led fundraiser Pints for Public Media held on Nov. 22 at White Squirrel Brewery raised $30,000 for WKU Public Media—organizers said the funds will support station operations and offer 3,000 student broadcasting hours.  WNKY

  • Local small businesses are still rebuilding after the 2021 tornadoes—owners share resilient stories as they repair damage and support community members while recovery efforts continue.  WBKO

HEALTH NEWS

  • The American Red Cross is asking residents to donate blood or platelets between Dec. 19 and Jan. 4 to keep up supply during the holiday season — donors may also enter a drawing for a trip. Local drives are held at Bethel Christian Fellowship Church and T.J. Health Columbia.  WBKO

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Glasgow Lady Scotties dropped two games at Metcalfe County this weekend. Without junior starter Jordy Goodman, they lost 67-58 to Green County on Saturday and 62-48 to the host Lady Hornets on Sunday, and they will resume play at Edmonson County on Dec. 29 at 1 p.m.  WCLU Radio
  • Warren Central beat LaRue County 75-57 on Sunday at Fairdale High School with Karaun Johnson scoring 17 points and will meet Louisville Butler on Monday, while Spencer County won 68-58 over Franklin-Simpson at Western Hills High School in Frankfort with Franklin-Simpson set to close play on Monday.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • The Harlem Globetrotters will play at WKU’s E.A. Diddle Arena on Monday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m.—part of their 100 Year Tour where they will debut new jerseys and offer fan experiences including pregame Magic Pass and VIP Bench Tickets as they face the Washington Generals.  WNKY
  • On Saturday at Greenwood, the Trojanettes won 69-18 against the Lady Bobcats with a 22-5 start and 36-9 halftime lead. Shelby Byrd scored 14 and Riley Wilson added 13 to help the team reach 8-0 ahead of a Saturday game against Daviess County at South Warren.  WCLU Radio
