  • AKFA Aluminum Solutions US LLC announced plans to build its first U.S. manufacturing facility at the Kentucky Transpark that will create 331 jobs, with production using advanced extrusion, anodizing, and finishing methods (meeting U.S. energy and environmental standards) to boost local manufacturing and trade.  WBKO

  • The Kentucky Court of Appeals is hearing oral arguments in a consolidated case over spring 2020 tuition refunds from WKU and five state universities at 1:30 p.m. today, with proceedings continuing tomorrow at the Hardin County Justice Center in Elizabethtown.  WBKO

HEALTH NEWS

  • Emergency responders advise drivers to allow extra travel time and slow down today as winter weather increases road hazards — local agencies have prepared Bowling Green roads with extra salt and trained drivers while officials note a rise in collisions in nearby counties.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Bowling Green firefighter Nick Atkins advises residents to water live Christmas trees every two days and check tree lighting for safe electrical connections during holiday celebrations; he warns that dry trees and faulty wiring can increase fire risks.  WBKO

  • WKU punter Cole Maynard was named AP All-America First Team by a 52-member panel on Monday, Dec. 15 in Bowling Green. He set a new record with a 48.7 yd punting average and is the first in the FBS era to earn this honor + also joining the Walter Camp All-America Second Team.  WNKY
