  • Community members joined a peaceful walk Saturday in Bowling Green to honor Tyreque Resean Morrison, a local man killed in September, and his family is urging law enforcement to address concerns about evidence tampering.  WBKO
  • St. Teresa Thrift Store and Ministries awarded over $40K in Season of Giving grants on Saturday, Dec. 13 to five local nonprofits including Good Samaritan, Down Syndrome, St. Gianna Crisis, Family Enrichment, and Friends of Warren County Parks and Recreation.   • Warming centers are opening in Bowling Green as cold weather nears. Kummer-Little Recreation Center operates Dec. 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wellness Connection runs Dec. 16-18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; the Salvation Army offers shelter when it’s below 35°F + local libraries provide shuttle service and BG Neighbors host lunch.  WBKO

  • The local Toys for Tots program began in 2003 and served 31,000 children in 2024 while launching a nursing home effort and 12 unique Book Nook projects across 10 counties.   • SOKY Ice Rink in downtown Bowling Green is celebrating its ninth season with festive skating sessions, Sunday Storytimes with the Warren County Public Library at 3 and 4 p.m., and a Cast Iron Curling League on Mondays.   • BGHS band, chorus, and orchestra performed for local junior high and elementary school students on Friday during a special holiday event. The group attracted the largest audiences of the year.  WNKY

  • South Warren Spartans lost by a score of 58 to 53 against the Monroe County Falcons at Barren County High School on Saturday, Dec. 13.
