  • Today, the local humane society asks residents to offer foster homes for animals during the holiday season + it has set out Christmas stockings for community donations of treats and toys. They aim to give the animals a warm break this festive time.  WBKO

  • LifeSkills Inc. was awarded a 2025 national marketing award for its Adult Foster Care (AFC) social media campaign, which ran from November 2024 through August 2025 in Bowling Green. Local marketing agencies CrowdSouth and Forerunner partnered with LifeSkills to boost recruitment efforts.  WNKY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bowling Green High School hosted its annual holiday concert today for district elementary and middle school students. The BGHS band, choir & orchestra performed to show how practice builds musical talent.  WBKO
  • Laura Beth Fox-Ezell began as a student worker and was promoted to co-director of Warren County Public Library in August 2025; she transformed the Educational Outreach Service into a full-service community program and supported key initiatives like the Capitol Arts Center and SoKY Center.  WNKY

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Lady Patriots secured a 68-23 win over Todd County Central on Thursday behind junior Avery Morris’ 29 points and will face the Lady Purples Saturday at State Farm 4th Region Challenge.   • Western Kentucky volleyball closed its season 27-6 as Conference USA co-champions and tournament winners for the third straight season after a loss to Marquette in the NCAA Tournament.   • Yesterday, the Russell County Lady Lakers beat the South Warren Lady Spartans 64–31 in a 4th region high school game held in Bowling Green.  WNKY
  • Bowling Green native Ryan Beard was named head football coach at Coastal Carolina University on Thursday. He left a successful stint at Missouri State and now aims to build the Chanticleers’ program in Conway, South Carolina — a move set to boost the team’s future.  Bowling Green Daily News
