  • Brittany Griffith hosted a food drive at Addiction’s Salon and Spa on November 13 to give free bags of fresh ingredients to residents amid SNAP cuts—she secured produce and meat donations from local farms for the pantry that has grown over nearly four years. She said she understands college struggles and plans another drive on November 19 for those in need.  College Heights Herald
  • Volunteers in Bowling Green are making gift-filled shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child—an international project run by Samaritan’s Purse—to help children in need. Drop-off points at Christ Church at 716 Cave Mill Rd and First Baptist Church at 621 E 12th Ave will accept boxes starting November 17.  Bowling Green Daily News

  • At a Barren County Schools Board meeting on Nov 13, second-grader Charleigh Perkins was honored as Student of the Month for her selfless acts of tidying up classrooms, sharing rewards, and helping peers + boosting a friendly environment at Eastern Elementary.  WCLU Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Beshear said Friday that SNAP benefits will be fully funded today, with added funds going to EBT cards for those who received a reduced November payment and partial payments issued today for those who have not yet received benefits — the Department for Community Based Services confirmed the plans.  WNKY

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Nov. 8, Med Center Health Foundation held its Charity Ball in Bowling Green, raising over $400,000 to support local clinics such as The Community Clinic, The Dental Clinic, and the Medical Center NICU. More than 650 attendees enjoyed a cocktail hour, dinner, auctions, and a live performance by the Number One Party Band — and the event has raised nearly $6 million over the years for community health.  WNKY

SPORTS NEWS

  • Western Kentucky’s men’s golf coach Austin King announced two signees for the class of 2026—Kentucky natives Barton Rutledge from Scottsville and Colton Woosley from Crestwood. Rutledge earned All-State honors and was runner-up at the KHSAA State Tournament while Woosley had top finishes; both players will join the team next season.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Western Kentucky will host old rival Middle Tennessee today at Houchens-Smith Stadium—this final regular-season home game keeps the Hilltoppers in the race for the Conference USA championship.   • Western Kentucky beat Tennessee Tech on November 3 and Eastern Kentucky on November 10 with a strong finish that kept turnovers low— they will host Tennessee State on November 16 at 2 p.m. as they try to win their third game of the season.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Western Kentucky volleyball player Callie Bauer, a fifth-year senior in business management, earned a spot on the Conference USA All-Academic Team for the third time after posting a 3.88 GPA during last season. She became one of few setters to reach 4,000 assists — and her team will finish the regular season against Liberty this weekend before heading to the CUSA Tournament Championship next week.  Bowling Green Daily News
