  • On Tuesday morning, community members gathered at Guthrie Bell Tower at WKU for a Veterans Day wreath-laying ceremony to honor service members; WKU President Dr. Timothy Caboni thanked veterans and their families for their sacrifices—recognizing the important role of ROTC cadets in preparing for the future of our armed forces.  WNKY
  • The Greenwood Park Church of Christ food pantry in Bowling Green is serving many more families than before COVID, with numbers rising from 50 to 500 per month and sometimes reaching 1,000 before SNAP benefits. Manager Hope Baker said donations are needed at 1818 Campbell Lane — local stores like Kroger, Aldi, Panera Bread, Target and Meijer are also donating as SNAP funds have not yet been received.  WNKY
  • Bowling Green Air Force couple Wyan Dunn and Vernelle Taylor married on Nov. 6 at the Love Story Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas during the free Vegas Marries the Military event that honors U.S. service members and veterans. They were one of seven couples chosen nationwide after submitting their service details and love stories—an honor that celebrates military dedication.  WBKO

  • A new mural honoring veterans was unveiled at Breen and Williford’s law firm on Fairview Ave — located at 870 Fairview Ave — by attorney Will Williford Tuesday in front of family, friends and veterans. The two-year project, painted by Glasgow native Casey Page, pays tribute to service members from World War I to the Iraq war.  WNKY

HEALTH NEWS

  • Hospital staff and community members celebrated the grand reopening of T.J. Samson Hospital's renovated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on November 10th. The seven‐week upgrade cost $380,000 and gave more space and privacy for families—led by Women and Newborn Care Director Megan Ritchie—while foundation officials said the change will improve care.  WCLU Radio
  • Bowling Green Animal Protection Division warns pet owners to protect outdoor pets by providing raised, straw-insulated shelters as cold weather sets in—ensuring pets stay dry and safe. They also advise keeping chemicals like antifreeze out of reach—since even a small amount can harm animals.  WNKY
  • Today, T.J. Regional Health holds its groundbreaking ceremony at 592 S. Main St. in Smiths Grove for its new 16,000 square-foot clinic in Warren County—bringing primary care, lab services, X-rays, ultrasounds, naturopath services and a drive-through for basic care to the area. The facility will be built by Alliance Corporation—a first for the health system as it expands services in the region.  WCLU Radio

  • WKU Cross Country junior Kinley Kunkel set a personal record of 20:36 at the CUSA Championships and spoke with News 40’s Samantha Money about the team’s upcoming Southeast Regionals—scheduled for Friday.  WNKY
  • Freshman guard Armelo Boone energized WKU to beat Eastern Kentucky 87-79 on Monday night at Alumni Coliseum in Richmond—he scored 14 points including 12 in the second half and added six rebounds, five assists and three steals.   • WKU volleyball will play matches at Liberty on Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at noon+ the team, now 22-5 overall and 13-1 in Conference USA, needs two wins to secure at least a share of the regular-season title and boost its NCAA Tournament resume.   • The Western Kentucky women’s basketball team rallied from a 15-point second half deficit to beat Wichita State 73-71 in overtime on Tuesday at E.A.
