- ➤ Western Kentucky University has initiated eminent domain proceedings to acquire properties for a new academic complex along State Street that will replace its facility for the College of Health and Human Services and public media operations. - ➤ Governor Beshear ordered state flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of former Governor Martha Layne Collins, the only woman to lead Kentucky, who died on November 1 at age 88—flags will remain lowered until sunset on her internment day as a public tribute. WCLU Radio
- ➤ The Warren County Health Department held a ribbon cutting last Tuesday at its renovated 54,000-square-foot building on 1109 State St. — a $7.8 million project funded by local, state and federal monies that expanded clinic services like immunizations, screenings and harm reduction — to better serve the community. - ➤ The city of Bowling Green will hold a Veterans’ Day parade on Nov. 8 at 10 a.m.—the route runs from Circus Square Park along College Street to East 10th Avenue before ending at the Warren County Courthouse, followed by a flag-raising ceremony in the Veterans’ Courtyard. WBKO
