  • On Saturday night, community members gathered at the National Corvette Museum as the Center for Courageous Kids hosted its Stars and Six Strings Masquerade Party to raise funds for free summer camp for children with serious conditions—guests enjoyed dinner, live music and a bourbon raffle while local leaders and families showed strong support for the cause.  WNKY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Western Kentucky University has initiated eminent domain proceedings to acquire properties for a new academic complex along State Street that will replace its facility for the College of Health and Human Services and public media operations. The university said negotiations — which included offers above appraised values — failed with two property owners, so it will move forward under its campus master plan.  WNKY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Beshear ordered state flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of former Governor Martha Layne Collins, the only woman to lead Kentucky, who died on November 1 at age 88—flags will remain lowered until sunset on her internment day as a public tribute.  WCLU Radio
  • The Warren County Health Department held a ribbon cutting last Tuesday at its renovated 54,000-square-foot building on 1109 State St. — a $7.8 million project funded by local, state and federal monies that expanded clinic services like immunizations, screenings and harm reduction — to better serve the community.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • The city of Bowling Green will hold a Veterans’ Day parade on Nov. 8 at 10 a.m.—the route runs from Circus Square Park along College Street to East 10th Avenue before ending at the Warren County Courthouse, followed by a flag-raising ceremony in the Veterans’ Courtyard.  WBKO

HEALTH NEWS

  • TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital welcomed its new vice president of human resources, Leah Shrull, who now oversees talent management, workforce planning and employee engagement. Shrull, an alumna of Western Kentucky University with previous HR experience at Shoals Technologies Group—she began her role on November 3, is expected to strengthen the hospital’s people-first culture.  Bowling Green Daily News

  • Western Kentucky setter Callie Bauer earned her sixth Conference USA Setter of the Week as she recorded 31 assists in one match—freshman opposite hitter Kaira Knox was named Freshman of the Week with standout play. The honors were announced Monday, November 3 and come as the Hilltoppers prepare for home matches against Delaware later this week.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Yesterday, the Bowling Green Hot Rods revealed the 2026 Hall of Fame ballot, listing nominees who meet game minimums and ensuring that at least one former player or coach will be inducted by Opening Day on April 3.   • Two WKU football players earned Conference USA weekly awards after a 35-16 Homecoming win over New Mexico State on Saturday—Rodney Tisdale Jr. was named Freshman of the Week and Cole Maynard won Special Teams Player of the Week. Tisdale threw for 301 yards and four touchdowns while Maynard averaged 44.2 yards per punt as the team improved to a 7-2 overall record and 5-1 in conference play.  Bowling Green Daily News
