- ➤ Headaches are common in Bowling Green as Dr. Eme Igbokwe of Graves Gilbert Clinic notes that migraines affect about 17% of the population, mostly women, and advises that severe pain or a sudden thunderclap headache — the worst pain ever— should prompt a visit to the emergency department for possible stroke or infection. He recommends treating mild headaches at home by getting enough sleep, avoiding trigger foods like cheese, chocolate, coffee and soft drinks, and not overusing pain relievers. WNKY

- ➤ Western Kentucky’s men’s basketball team secured a 78-76 exhibition win against UAB on Wednesday night in Bartow Arena in Birmingham — LJ Hackman’s late layup and block sealed the win after UAB tied the game in the final seconds.
