  • In the Wednesday edition of SoKY Speaks, Ashlee Wilson + Jessica Anderson discussed planned events at Reindeer Farm as they outlined exciting upcoming attractions for local audiences.  WNKY
  • At a weekly meeting on Wednesday at Crossland Community Church, the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club presented local child Amelia Webster with a custom AmTryke—a bike built for children with special needs—and the club marked its first use of the program. Amelia, who has cerebral palsy and has undergone surgeries to improve her mobility, will now ride with her friends and big sister.  WNKY

  • A tree hit a transmission line on Wednesday in Warren County leaving about 12,000 members without power—crews are working quickly to restore service.  WNKY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Bowling Green Independent School District has upgraded its communications by giving handheld radios that use a stable network—reserved for first responders—and has enhanced safety with new key card locks and updated cameras. The district moved its main data hub to the high school tech center, started a pilot for an AI tool to help teachers review student work, and will finish more upgrades by Christmas.  Bowling Green Daily News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Rep. Robert Duvall from Bowling Green went to the Health Costs Seminar and the Prescription Drug Policy Post-Conference held by the National Conference of State Legislators in mid-October after being nominated by House Speaker David Osborne. He said he is eager to use what he learned to help lower health care costs for families + the meetings discussed Medicaid and ways to improve prescription drug access.  WNKY

  • The Greenwood girls’ soccer team lost 2-1 to McCracken County in the state tournament opening round at Greenwood High School on October 21 — after winning their first Region 4 title since 2020, they fought to close a two-goal gap but couldn’t tie the game.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • On Tuesday, WKU Football beat Louisiana Tech 28-27 in overtime at Joe Aillet Stadium as quarterback Rodney Tisdale Jr. connected with Moussa Barry on a game-winning two-point conversion—making the Hilltoppers 6-2 and bowl eligible.  WNKY
  • Greenwood senior Landry Campbell delivered an assist and game-winning goal for the Lady Gators in a 2-1 win over Bowling Green at South Warren High School, helping secure their first region championship since 2020.   • Bowling Green senior Oliver Gonzales kept a shutout as goalkeeper in a 4-0 soccer win over South Warren + kicked a 27-yard game-winning field goal in a 17-14 home football win against Greenwood, and he posted another shutout as goalkeeper in BG’s state tournament win against McCracken County on Monday + his multi-sport effort highlights his rising talent.  Bowling Green Daily News
