COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Menards in Bowling Green is hosting a food drive through October that accepts canned goods for local food pantries—supporting community efforts to help those in need. Feeding America reported that over 750,000 Kentuckians struggle with food insecurity, including more than 21,000 in Warren County.  Spectrum News 1

CULTURE NEWS

  • The National Corvette Museum announced that it will open a 66,000-square-foot facility in fall 2026 to store historic Corvettes and artifacts. The new building on the museum campus in Bowling Green will offer behind-the-scenes tours — major donations have helped fund the expansion — to protect these important pieces of American sports car history.  WNKY

ECONOMY NEWS

  • New National Park Service data showed that visitors to Mammoth Cave National Park spent $73,238,000 in nearby communities on Tuesday, October 14—with non-local visitors accounting for 98.5 percent of the spending. The spending supported 883 jobs and added $97.3 million in economic output, including $28.6 million on lodging.  Bowling Green Daily News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Western Kentucky University (WKU) will host a free science show called Nightmare on Physics Avenue on Oct. 28 at Kelly Thompson Hall. Science students and teachers will perform Halloween-themed experiments and hands-on activities from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.  WBKO

SPORTS NEWS

  • Missouri State quarterback Deuce Bailey, a former Bowling Green High School star, was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week on Monday. He started for injured Jacob Clark and led the Bears on a 10-play—game-winning drive in last Wednesday’s 22-20 win at Middle Tennessee.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Bowling Green football will host Greenwood on Friday at 7 p.m. with the district title on the line—Greenwood seeks its first win against the Purples while Bowling Green uses its bye week to refocus and build momentum for the playoffs.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Freshman Jasper Johnson said he always rates himself as the best shooter while praising teammates Kam Williams and Trent Noah for their strong play—he stressed that team chemistry comes first.   • WKU volleyball comes home after a long road trip to begin a four-game homestand that includes two matches against Sam Houston this weekend.
