- ➤ Menard’s in Bowling Green is hosting a food drive this month to benefit a church-run food bank — shoppers may purchase groceries in-store as donations that will support the community until the end of October. WBKO

- ➤ Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society said that on Saturday afternoon a young deer fell into a 15-foot sinkhole and responders from the shelter, the Fire Department — along with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife — sedated and safely removed the animal before releasing it into the wild. - ➤ A Western Kentucky University public relations class is working with 20 senior majors to complete 40 free marketing projects for about 30 Bowling Green companies and nonprofits—helping local businesses boost their social media, podcasting, and event campaigns. Instructor Steven Momorella said the agency model gives students real-world experience while offering needed support to the community. Bowling Green Daily News

- ➤ Western Kentucky’s women’s tennis team had a strong start at the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational at the Adams Tennis Complex in Murfreesboro on Friday, winning six of seven singles matches against Miami Ohio and two of three doubles matches against SEMO. They returned on Saturday for additional singles and doubles matches at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. — coach Greg Davis said the singles wins showed promise as the team tested different doubles pairings for spring. - ➤ Western Kentucky’s volleyball team defeated Louisiana Tech 3-0 on Saturday in Ruston — securing its 98th straight regular-season conference win and tying a NCAA Division I record for fourth all-time streak. The team recorded a season-low three hitting errors while improving its offensive performance with 47 total kills and a .518 hitting percentage. Bowling Green Daily News
- ➤ At Nick Denes Field today, the Louisville Slugger Warriors— a national amputee baseball team of military veterans, active-duty members, wounded warriors and college players—played against the WKU Hilltoppers, inspiring local fans with their story of perseverance. Representatives from the Louisville Slugger Museum also showed game-used bats and mentioned the new documentary, Curveballs: Secrets to the Game of Life, which will reach more viewers soon. WBKO
- ➤ Western Kentucky's women's tennis team finished the second day of the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational on Saturday in Murfreesboro by winning six of seven singles matches against SEMO and four of six doubles matches against teams from Miami Ohio and Middle Tennessee.
