CULTURE NEWS

  • Capitol Theater is a historical gem in Bowling Green that was restored by the Capitol Arts Alliance and is now run by the Warren County Public Library to host movies, concerts and speakers. It first opened as the Capitol on March 21st with silent films and vaudeville acts—showing its long role in local entertainment.  Bowling Green Daily News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Caza Innovations — a research and technology firm — is moving its headquarters to Bowling Green and will invest $270,000 to create 15 high-wage jobs while recruiting 10 WKU students to work on product development and artificial intelligence research. The move is set to boost WKU's research efforts and support its goal of advancing to an R2 institution.  Spectrum News 1

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The county nears completion of the new home for the sheriff at Sugar Maple Square and expects to get a certificate-of-occupancy early November—part of a project that adds a larger evidence room, training facility, gym, and communications center. Fiscal court magistrates already approved nearly half a million dollars for new shelving and communications equipment to support the transition.  Bowling Green Daily News

HEALTH NEWS

  • A long-awaited mental health and drug abuse intake center on Suwanee Trail Street will soon start construction under LifeSkills’ management as part of the Anchor Project—designed to cut law enforcement time on mental health calls, serve 10 counties, and house 88 full-time employees with support from a $20 million state allocation.  Bowling Green Daily News

  • Bowling Green senior Annabelle Brown scored a goal and assisted on another as the Lady Purples won a 2-1 girls' soccer match against Central Hardin on Saturday. Audrey Lawrence scored and Macy Lindsey assisted while goalkeeper Ella Wiesbrook made four saves—Bowling Green will face Daviess County on Thursday.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • On Friday night, South Warren running back Kayden York scored three touchdowns to lead the Spartans to a 35—0 shutout win over Pulaski County. The team built a 15—0 halftime lead and sealed the win with a long touchdown run and an interception return.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • The KHSAA Board of Control approved a 35-second shot clock for boys’ and girls’ high school basketball starting in the 2027-28 season despite a survey where 150 of 252 schools opposed the change. Local coaches in Bowling Green are excited about the new rule — saying it will boost game strategy and add a fresh layer of excitement for players and fans.  Bowling Green Daily News
