- ➤ The Bowling Green Fire Department held its annual Firehouse Festival Saturday, inviting community members to enjoy a bounce house, a maze that teaches kids to crawl safely when smoke is present, and a live burn that demonstrated the difference between open and closed bedroom doors. Kids also dunked a firefighter using a fire hose—an exciting part of the event—providing a fun way for families to learn about fire safety. WBKO

- ➤ Bowling Green held its 35th annual International Festival at Circus Square Park to bring diverse cultures together. One vendor, Tasty Boba, offered homemade Myanmar foods and different flavors of boba — hoping the event sparks more local support for small businesses. WBKO
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The City of Bowling Green launched the Downtown Ambassador Academy to help 25 students connect with local businesses, nonprofits and government agencies in six sessions from October to April. Students will work on a project with a local organization and present their ideas next spring. Spectrum News 1

- ➤ Greenwood's defense forced five turnovers in a 30-6 win over Warren Central on Friday, snapping the Dragons' three-game win streak—both teams will play road games Thursday with Warren Central in Bowling Green and Greenwood at Barren County. Bowling Green Daily News
- ➤ Western Kentucky senior running back La’Vell Wright scored two touchdowns in the second half and finished with 91 rushing yards on 10 carries and a 13-yard reception—a key factor in the Hilltoppers' 27-22 win over Missouri State at Robert W. - ➤ On Saturday the WKU volleyball team beat Jacksonville State with a score of three to zero at E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green—four players had between six and eight kills as they swept the weekend in Conference USA play. Bowling Green Daily News
- ➤ The Franklin-Simpson football team beat Warren East 42-36 on Friday at Warren East High School when Blake McPherson and Xavier Hampton ran a total of 473 yards. - ➤ Western Kentucky’s women’s soccer team tied 1-1 with Middle Tennessee on Saturday at the WKU Soccer Complex. Freshman forward Makenna Egan scored in the 22nd minute—assisted by Alaina Nugier—before Middle Tennessee equalized in the 59th minute, leaving WKU at 4-4-2 overall and 1-0-1 in Conference USA play.
