- ➤ Vito Tisdale, known as Big V from Nappy Roots and a Bowling Green native, is using his Tisdale Foundation to boost mental health services and empower youth in the community. The foundation is securing funding to offer housing and transportation—efforts that will start in Bowling Green and expand later. WNKY

- ➤ Nearly 300 people attended a candlelight vigil on Sept. 25 at WKU’s South Lawn to honor the slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk — Turning Point USA hosted the event and speakers including pastor Roger Ryan, State Sen. - ➤ Hart County Schools is mourning the loss of 18-year-old student Schyler Oldham, who died on Sept. 25. His teammates remembered him as a bright leader and his family will host visitation on Sept. 30 with a funeral service on Oct. 1 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church—burial will follow at Millerstown Cemetery. - ➤ Three Kentucky educators have been named to the 17th class of the Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame—Lois Chandler, Julie Cowan, and Jennifer Fritsch. The formal induction ceremony will be held on Friday, Nov. 7 at Western Kentucky University. WBKO
- ➤ Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College’s nursing program in Bowling Green earned the top ranking in Kentucky after students averaged 100% on the NCLEX exam — a result of small class sizes that offer extra attention — and the program has maintained this record for several years. - ➤ The Kentucky Department of Education announced it will use the SAT as the state-funded college entrance exam for high school juniors in spring 2026 after awarding a four-year contract to the College Board to administer a digital test scored from 400 to 1600 - locking exam costs at $30 per student and saving up to $350,000. The exam will be taken during the school day and offers adaptive modules in reading, writing and math. WCLU Radio

- ➤ East Main Avenue closed yesterday afternoon when the Bowling Green Police Department held a graduation processional for Law Enforcement Class 9. Residents cheered as new officers marched from police headquarters to The Capitol—marking a proud milestone in local law enforcement. WNKY
- ➤ Kentucky State Police Post 3 will host Coffee with a Trooper on Oct. 1 from 9 to 11 a.m.—the event at Q Coffee Emporium on Waterbury Court off Nashville Road gives local residents a chance to meet state troopers. WNKY
