- ➤ Hope Harbor celebrated 40 years of service for sexual assault victims at its new Glasgow office on N—Race Street. The organization now offers expanded, free confidential support five days a week with state and federal funds to help the community. WCLU Radio
- ➤ Jackson’s Orchard is hosting its annual Pumpkin Fest this weekend and it will run on the first four weekends in October—offering a corn maze, revamped playground, petting zoo, pony rides, hayrides and a new apple picking season. The orchard will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. WBKO
- ➤ City officials honored 140 new U.S. citizens at a reception held on Tuesday at Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green—this event marked the successful naturalization of men, women and children over the past year. - ➤ Kentucky high school students will take a digitally formatted SAT in Spring 2026 after the Department of Education awarded a contract to the College Board that is expected to save more than $350,000. The new test will have reading/writing and math sections with adaptive difficulty and will be accepted by schools like UofL—UK, WKU and EKU. WBKO

- ➤ The Barren River Area Development District partnered with the City of Bowling Green in an interlocal agreement to allocate $725,000 immediately and another $725,000 next fiscal year in opioid abatement funds to support the Anchor Project—cities and counties can join the effort as approved in the ordinance passed on September 16. - ➤ 86-year-old Chuck Goad — an Alvaton native from near Bowling Green — was named the world’s oldest fitness instructor by Guinness World Records and has trained at LA Fitness since 2011 while using a work ethic honed on his Kentucky farm. Bowling Green Daily News
