- ➤ The Richardsville Community Hay Bale Trail returns this fall with 27 decorated hay bales set out along flexible routes. Organizer Misty Johnson said visitors can enjoy the displays—staying up until early October—as a fun, free competition. WBKO
- ➤ The 2025 Bowling Green Parade of Homes took place this weekend with 16 homes showcased across Warren County—one being at 2224 Mt. Victor Lane, built by local builder Reagan Young, a WKU alum and co-owner of Broadway Builders LLC. WBKO
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ This week on campus, WKU held a dedication for Chandler Hall, showed the controversial WKU Pisser exhibit, and had a candlelight vigil by SOKY Indivisible for people targeted by ICE while shots were fired in front of a Kappa Alpha fraternity house and campus security began investigating. Later this week, Caboni will speak to the Faculty Senate—school leaders will review safety measures and plan next steps. College Heights Herald
- ➤ WKU dedicated Amy and David Chandler Hall on Friday, Sept. 19 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that showcased the new business college’s modern classrooms and collaborative spaces—funded by $74.4 million from the Kentucky General Assembly, $7.5 million from the Chandlers, and generous donors. - ➤ Bowling Green’s city government is accepting bids for phase one of Riverfront Park — a project that will add a boat ramp along Barren River and a pedestrian plaza with benches and picnic areas. The winning bid will be announced in November and phase one is expected to finish next spring as the park develops further in later phases. Bowling Green Daily News

- ➤ The Western Kentucky women’s golf team finished its second round at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate on September 20 with an 18-over par 302 score—bringing their total to 591 and a tenth place rank as they head into the final round on Sunday in Nashville. WKU junior Grace Frei shot a 2-over 73 on Saturday and tied for 32nd place in the tournament. Bowling Green Daily News
- ➤ WKU Football scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to beat Nevada 31-16 at Houchens-Smith Stadium on Saturday—improving their overall record to 3-1. The Hilltoppers will face Missouri State on Sept. 27 in Springfield. WNKY
- ➤ Nearly a thousand runners joined the 46th Med Center Health 10K Classic on Sept 20 at Bowling Green Ballpark where a new course started and ended. Chase Bulten won the 10K while Daisy Jepkosgei led the womens’ race, Aaron Dickens won the 5K and Matthew Porterfield won the wheelchair race — marking the key results from the event. - ➤ Barren County Trojans lost 42-7 in a Friday night district game in Bowling Green — Daylan Thomas rushed for 123 yards and scored a touchdown. The team stands 2-3 as it will host Grayson County next Friday. WCLU Radio
- ➤ Western Kentucky announced that country hip-hop artist Blanco Brown will perform a free pregame concert on Oct. 14 before WKU’s football game against Florida International at Houchens-Smith Stadium.
