- ➤ Local research found that Chuck-A-Luck Road was named after a farming tool used for planting corn and tobacco near a historic mill—clarifying the tool’s role instead of a gambling game. New restaurants, including a Chicago-style pizzeria, a breakfast and lunch chain, and the returning Moe's Southwest Grill, will open soon on Scottsville Road and Lovers Lane, adding variety to the local dining scene. - ➤ Warren County Middle School was evacuated Friday morning after an electrical malfunction triggered a fire alarm—first responders arrived and students were moved to the football facility as a technician investigated the cause. WBKO
- ➤ The Potter College of Arts and Letters at WKU held a party Friday night to mark 60 years of growth as alumni and deans recalled the college’s past and ongoing progress. The school has grown from 820 to over 2,000 students—an achievement that guides its future plans with the new PCAL Fund for Excellence. WNKY
- ➤ Western Kentucky University cut the ribbon Friday morning on Amy and David Chandler Hall—an all-new, 113,000-square-foot facility that now houses the Gordon Ford College of Business with workspaces, a virtual reality lab and financial success centers.
