- ➤ The 2025 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway launched today in the South Haven subdivision near South Warren High School and features a 2,200 sq ft home with four bedrooms and two bathrooms valued at $440,000. Ticket buyers have a chance to win extra prizes—such as a gift card with an outdoor griddle, a seven-night vacation stay, and bonus draws—with all funds raised helping cover treatment, travel, housing, or food costs for families at St. Jude. - ➤ Just Piddlin Farm has opened its pumpkin patch, hay ride, corn maze and other fall activities since Sept. 13—owner Chip Willingham, who has run the farm for over 25 years, says families continue to return for the seasonal fun. - ➤ An early morning fire on Sunday destroyed a 30′ x 30′ hay barn in Warren County and firefighters from Woodburn, Browning, Plano and Alvaton used nearly 9,600 gallons of water over two hours to control the blaze—no injuries were reported. WBKO

- ➤ Owner Lonnie Lee Gibson has fought against East Kentucky Power Cooperative’s plan to build an 11-mile transmission line that would split 50 acres of rare old growth forest on his 152-acre property in Hart County—attorney Charles Williams said Gibson has proposed an alternate route that would cost about $100,000 extra, though the company has yet to change its course. - ➤ County officials finished creating the Warren County Fire Department on Thursday when magistrates filed paperwork to set up the command structure with the Kentucky Fire Commission—ensuring quicker emergency responses.
