- ➤ Hart County is celebrating its annual Civil War Days at the Battle for the Bridge Historic Preserve near Munfordville — reenactors and local students join interactive exhibits to learn about history. The event features a reenactment of the Battle of Rowlett’s Station today and a Battle of Munfordville reenactment on Sunday. WBKO

- ➤ JC Kirby & Son presented a Feel Good Friday feature on Aiden Wilkins, a gifted 9-year-old enrolled in college who is excelling in his studies. WNKY
- ➤ Residents of Pearce Ford Tower at WKU have been without air conditioning since the school year began and have had free water and snacks to help with the heat. The university has installed a temporary unit and will have a T&B consultant test the system this week—repairs to the exchanger and other parts are expected to be finished by late October. WNKY
- ➤ U.S. News World Report has ranked Greenwood High School as No. 1 and South Warren High School as No. 2 for Warren County based on test scores, graduation rates and college readiness — Greenwood ranked No. 16 statewide while South Warren came in at No. 19. WNKY
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Cool nights over the past few weeks have helped tree leaves change color, but the dry weather may cause leaves to fall too soon. Carrie Spry from UK said if rain does not come soon, fall colors might peak earlier in mid-October—leaving trees less vibrant. WBKO
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will start a road project Monday, Sept 15—expanding turn lanes for safety at the intersection of Kentucky 234 Johnny Webb Boulevard and Kentucky 880 Lovers Lane in Warren County. Officials say lane closures will occur from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and most work is expected to finish by late November. WNKY

- ➤ The Bowling Green Hot Rods lost 10-5 to Hub City on Thursday at Bowling Green Ballpark in Game 2 of the South Atlantic League Division Series—Hub City jumped to an early lead and pulled ahead in extra innings after Bowling Green rallied late in the game. - ➤ Glasgow freshman Griffin Jackson closed out the regular season with a win at the 15th District match at Park Mammoth Golf Club on Thursday — he shot 35 over nine holes and edged Barton Rutledge from the Allen County Scottsville team by two strokes for medal honors. Glasgow’s Patriots clinched the team title with a one-stroke win over the Scotties, while Barren County and Warren East finished third and fourth with scores of 173 and 176. WCLU Radio
