  • Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland celebrated the opening of its new distribution hub in Bowling Green and honored hometown hero Cody Lawyer from Hughes & Coleman.  WBKO
  • Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland celebrated Hunger Action Month at its new distribution hub in Bowling Green — volunteers packed produce for local partners and Houchens Food Group presented a check to support local hunger relief for over 21,000 residents.  WBKO
  • Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland, opened a new facility in Bowling Green to serve thousands of families across Warren County—Executive director Charles Dennis said the new location will deepen connections with over 250 local agencies and corporate partners to meet growing needs.  WNKY

  • A new tech firm has chosen Bowling Green for its headquarters—promising dozens of new jobs in the near future—while final plans for local operations are underway.  WBKO

CRIME NEWS

  • Bowling Green Police and federal agencies arrested Jonathan Emmett for the armed robbery at Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurant on River Place Avenue on Aug. 25 — he is held in Georgia and will be extradited to Kentucky to face charges.  WBKO

ECONOMY NEWS

  • OgMentum ARK announced it will build its headquarters and research hub in Bowling Green to work on fiber optics for communications and defense. The project is expected to create at least 25 high-paying jobs over three years and boost the local economy by nearly $196 million—officials say the company will also partner with WKU to train local talent.  WBKO
  • Today the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce launched the T.I. Initiative, a tech investment program to help local startups raise capital and attract outside companies. Chamber President Ron Bunch said the initiative will grow local businesses—creating more boardroom opportunities and jobs in the community.  WNKY

HEALTH NEWS

  • Graves Gilbert Clinic in Bowling Green is hosting drive-thru flu vaccine clinics from Sept. 8 to Oct. 3 at the main campus and from Sept. 29 to Oct. 17 at the Family Care Center — no appointment is needed as most insurance covers the cost. Dr. Thomas Sternberg urges residents to get vaccinated early to help lower hospital visits and severe illness.  SOKY Happenings

SPORTS NEWS

  • Western Kentucky’s volleyball team has battled injuries over the past two weeks with senior setter Callie Bauer limited by a dislocated shoulder and other players missing games, yet the team secured a 3—0 win over No. 25 Dayton.
