  • White Farms Breaking and Training will hold an annual benefit on Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. to raise funds for Kennedy—a young girl fighting leukemia—as it continues a tradition that has helped families facing medical crises since 2007.  WNKY
  • Several Glasgow and Barren County first responders were honored Saturday at the First Responder Awards Dinner on Sept. 6, where emergency personnel received awards for their service. The event also recognized the contributions of notable figures by inducting members onto the Barren County First Responders Wall of Honor (including the late Mike Swift, a pioneer in EMS).  WCLU Radio

  • The Better Business Bureau and KY Public Protection Cabinet are teaming up to warn Bowling Green residents about scams like fake job ads and computer-made photos — the new website gives quick access to BBB’s Scam Tracker for reporting suspicious messages.  WBKO

CRIME NEWS

  • A 27-year-old Scottsville man, Tyler Yoakem, was arrested after allegedly stabbing another man during a dispute at a home around 11:24 a.m. Saturday—authorities said the victim sustained multiple injuries and was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Hospital.  WNKY

CULTURE NEWS

  • Bowling Green’s new 'Sonic Landscape' exhibit opened today to honor local artists and the city's rich musical legacy—from gospel to hip hop—with roots going back to the 1930s and 40s. Local musician Dean Collier said the event is long overdue and that organizers hope younger generations will carry on the musical tradition.  WNKY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kalyn Vick was named the new Director of Education for Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky and will lead programs that teach over 10,000 local students in kindergarten to 12th grade. She brings strong experience from the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce—her background supports her role in guiding the education programs.  WBKO

SPORTS NEWS

  • Barren County Trojans defeated Metcalfe County 39–0 in Edmonton Saturday as Daylan Thomas ran for three touchdowns—he finished with 166 yards on nine carries—and the team will return on Friday to face Monroe County at 7 p.m.  WCLU Radio
  • The Bowling Green Hot Rods, who have led both halves of the season since 2022, are starting their postseason run Tuesday night in the Division Series against the Hub City Spartanburgers—aiming for back-to-back championship pennants.  WNKY
