  • Potter Children’s Home will host its annual fall festival benefit on Sept. 20—festivities begin at 9:30 a.m. and include bounce houses, food booths, facility tours and a live auction at 12:30 p.m. to help raise $50,000 for children in need.  WNKY
  • The REALTORS® Association of Southern Kentucky announced the 2nd Annual REALTORS® Hope for Hunger Bubble Run to raise funds and awareness for hunger relief in our region—over 13% of households here face food insecurity. Registration is $35 for adults and free for children 12 and under, and participants will receive a t-shirt, swag bag, and awards for top finishers.  SOKY Happenings

  • A semi-truck overturned on Woodburn Allen Springs Road in Warren County Wednesday afternoon—authorities closed the 3800 block for cleanup after the driver sustained minor injuries.  WNKY

  • Two men accused of a plot to kill a Bowling Green business manager appeared in court Tuesday at Warren County Regional Jail—Donald Swain, 46, from Louisville and Darris Allen, 42, from Bowling Green face charges linked to the fatal shooting of Robert Dark at Martin Auto Mart on U.S. 31-W.  Bowling Green Daily News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Bowling Green's local music legends are honored as the Kentucky Museum opens its new Sonic Landscape exhibit this Saturday—featuring groups like Government Cheese that shaped the city's sound in the mid-1980s. The exhibit celebrates influential artists and reminds the community of its rich musical heritage.  WNKY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Bowling Green Police Department will host an open house on Sept. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 911 Kentucky St to allow prospective law enforcement to meet current officers—tour police vehicles, see safety demonstrations, and learn about joining the department.  WNKY

SPORTS NEWS

  • Western Kentucky quarterback Maverick McIvor earned an honorable mention for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week after throwing 305 yards and five touchdowns in his second game—helping lead the Hilltoppers to a 55-6 win over North Alabama. He totaled 706 yards and eight touchdowns in his first two games and was recognized by the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and SPORTyler on Wednesday.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Mercante is a 5-year-old gelding trained by Brian Knippenberg and ridden by Joe Ramos who is now one of the favorites for Saturday’s $2.5 million KTDF Kentucky Turf Cup Invitational at Kentucky Downs—he nearly upset Spirit of St Louis in the $1 million Old Forester Turf Classic at Churchill Downs. Knippenberg said the horse has grown from a Cinderella story to a serious contender through strong showings in recent races.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Greenwood senior quarterback Levi Wyatt passed 11-for-17 for 147 yards and two scores in the 21-6 win over Warren East at Greenwood High—helping his team improve to 2-0. The team will host South Warren on Friday at 7 p.m. to finish its three-game homestand.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Kaytlin Miller led the Warren East Lady Raiders with 21 kills and two aces during a 3-2 win at South Warren, earning her team a fourth win in five meetings. The team will play at Bowling Green tonight at 7:30 p.m.—they hope to keep their winning momentum strong.  Bowling Green Daily News
