  • Residents in Bowling Green will enjoy several free film showings at the Capitol throughout September as scheduled by the Warren County Public Library, with events including Forbidden Planet on Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m., Friday the 13th Part VI on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m., and American Graffiti on Sept. 6 at 3:30 p.m. — concessions are available for purchase at 416 E. REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Fiscal court magistrates in Warren County approved lowering the real property tax rate from 14.4 cents per $100 to 14 cents per $100 on Thursday—this move follows a rise in property values from 13.1 billion to 14.4 billion. Officials say the change meets revenue goals while the personal property tax rate remains unchanged.  Bowling Green Daily News

  • The Lady Raiders beat the Lady Spartans 3-2 at South Warren High School on August 28 with set scores of 25-22, 18-25, 25-22, 25-27, 15-13—showing a close five-set match that ended in a tight win for the Raiders.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Western Kentucky's volleyball team opened the season yesterday with two sweeps against Wright State and Loyola-Chicago by winning all three sets in each match for six straight set wins. Kaira Knox led the team (25 kills, 11 digs, 3 blocks) as the Hilltoppers earned their first victories of 2025.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • On August 28th, Aidan Smith hit two home runs and Marcus Johnson pitched six scoreless innings to lead the Bowling Green Hot Rods to an 8-2 win over the Greenville Drive at Fluor Field—boosting the team's record in South Atlantic League play.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Dave Herard did not start for Western Kentucky against Sam Houston but played many snaps and led the team with six tackles in a 41 to 24 win at Houchens-Smith Stadium—he plans to build on his effort when the Hilltoppers host North Alabama at 6 p.m. today.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • The Greenwood Gators hosted the Warren East Raiders in Bowling Green on Friday at 7 p.m.—their first home matchup since 2019. Greenwood looked to avenge a 21-14 loss from last season as coach William Howard said his team needed key adjustments to counter the Raiders' spread game plan.  Bowling Green Daily News
