  • The Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society Adopt-a-thon telethon raised $40,000 to support local shelter pets on Sunday night—marking the event's return after an eight-year gap. Donations will support local animal adoptions and help fund shelter work.  WNKY

CRIME NEWS

  • Bowling Green police arrested 58-year-old Fred Hart on Aug. 24 for a fatal hit-and-run at Brandywood Court—officers said Hart smelled of alcohol while his girlfriend Savannah Caldwell left the scene after a vehicle struck a pedestrian who later died at the hospital.  WBKO

  • Today, the WKU School of Media and Communication hosts photojournalist Stephanie Sinclair at Jody Richards Hall Auditorium for a lecture on documenting human rights issues starting at 6 p.m. after a gallery opening reception in the atrium at 5 p.m.—Canon Explorers of Light sponsors the event celebrating 50 years of photojournalism.  College Heights Herald
