CRIME NEWS

  • Attorneys told Warren Circuit Court on Monday that no plea deal was reached for Jorge Lopez Iturbide—accused of causing a fatal crash on Scottsville Road on Jan. 6 that killed 2-year-old Jhavarion Peay and injured others—and that a trial date is expected soon.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • State police said that 50-year-old Cave City man Scott Eudy was shot and killed at 9:30 p.m. Monday, August 18 in Monroe County after he reportedly tried to break into a home on Sugar Creek Road and encountered an armed resident.  WBKO
  • Kentucky State Police is asking for help finding 45-year-old Willie Albany, who is wanted for second-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment; he is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs about 200 pounds, has a bald head and brown eyes, was last seen in the barren county area, and tips should be directed to KSP Post 3 at 270-782-2010.  WNKY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Western Kentucky University received $78,000 from the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education to fund collegiate recovery resource centers that offer trauma-informed peer support, academic help, and workforce programming—this project will run through June 30, 2026 and aims to build recovery-ready campuses.  WCLU Radio
