  • The Bowling Green Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, December 6 at 9:30 a.m. in downtown Bowling Green, hosted by the Bowling Green-Warren County Jaycees—its theme is The Best Christmas Parade Ever and float entries are due by November 15.  WNKY

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Bowling Green woman was injured when her car, driven by Jennifer Mason, crossed the median on Interstate 169 in Christian County on Wednesday afternoon and hit a guardrail before colliding with another vehicle — she was taken by Hopkinsville EM to Jennie Stuart Health for treatment.  WNKY

CULTURE NEWS

  • The new Franklin Community Chorus is preparing its fall season with Sunday rehearsals starting Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. at Franklin First United Methodist Church in Franklin. It welcomes singers of all ages and plans a free concert on Nov. 30 at 3 p.m. featuring traditional carols + other songs.  Bowling Green Daily News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • More than 200 WKU students now live in Center Hall— the new residence hall converted from a former hotel that WKU leased after closing two dorms because of construction issues. The building has private bathrooms, hotel-style rooms with a pool, and updated furniture for a better living experience.  WNKY
  • Officials at Western Kentucky University said today that as the fall semester begins, Bowling Green will see heavier traffic and busier stores as an extra thousand students arrive; residents can expect these changes to affect daily life over the next few weeks.  WNKY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Work is progressing on Barren County’s new judicial center that will replace the old courthouse by offering improved security with a covered entryway, extra courtroom space, and dedicated parking—funded by state bonds. Judge-Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd said the project will allow secure inmate transfers and move county offices into the renovated courthouse after the courts relocate.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • A ribbon cutting was held yesterday to mark the opening of the updated GoBG Transit Center in Bowling Green after $1.7 million was spent on renovations to improve ADA access and transit services. The center, located at the corner of East 11th Avenue—Center Street, is now open to serve local riders.  WNKY
