- ➤ A Bowling Green man (49, Jared Hall) was charged with drug trafficking during a traffic stop in Auburn when deputies' K9 alerted to substances (meth pipes, mushrooms, marijuana and more) in a vehicle that he said was not his. WNKY
- ➤ A Bowling Green man, James Constant, 35, was arrested after a shots fired complaint was reported around 6 p.m. Sunday on Hays Pondsville Road—he allegedly fired rounds at a home, threatened two victims, and then fled in a black Corvette. WNKY
- ➤ Bowling Green police say a Michigan man and an unknown suspect stole two Corvettes from the GM Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant on Friday, and a chase led to the arrest of 20-year-old Daedrin Cook on Saturday morning while police continue to search for the second suspect. WNKY

- ➤ The Tri-Five Nationals celebrated its 10th year at Beech Bend Raceway this weekend and announced that Bowling Green will be its permanent home. The classic car show, known as the world’s largest gathering of 1955 to 1957 Chevrolets, attracted visitors from across the nation and is projected to boost the local economy by over $1.46 million this year. - ➤ On August 7, SKyCTC welcomed its new president Michelle Trawick at a reception attended by dozens of community members. Trawick, a Logan County native—formerly an economics professor and administrator—said she will focus on workforce solutions and improved student support to meet local employment needs. - ➤ Fossil researchers at Mammoth Cave discovered a new species of ancient shark named Macadens olsoni on August 11, and they say its curved tooth whorl helped it crush small sea creatures. The small bottom feeder was found in the Ste. Genevieve Formation (340 to 355 million years old) and is the fifth new fossil find at the park. Bowling Green Daily News

- ➤ A public hearing on Bowling Green’s proposed 2025 property tax rates will be held August 19 at 4:30 p.m. in the Commission Chamber at City Hall—residents will offer input on keeping the rate at $0.204 per $100 while anticipated tax revenue rises to about $16 million. WBKO

- ➤ On September 14th, the annual Out of the Darkness Walk will take place at Bowling Green Ballpark — registration opens at 11:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 1 p.m. to raise funds for suicide prevention. WNKY
