  • Tonight, the Hot Rods will pitch at 6:35 p.m. as they face Winston Salem Dash—while a free movie Barbarella plays at the Capitol at 6:30 p.m., SKYCTC holds a CPR, First Aid, and AED training at 8 a.m. today and the Red Cross hosts blood drives—one at SKYCTC from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and one at Holiday Inn University Plaza from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  WNKY
  • On Tuesday, Curbside Ministries held its annual Back 2 School Bash to give local children free meals, school supplies, and fun activities—350 donated backpacks were distributed along with a gospel message and park play.  WBKO

  • Bowling Green native Travis Russell is the new regional president at German American Bank and will oversee operations in Warren, Simpson, Barren, and Hart counties. CRIME NEWS

  • On Tuesday at 2:10 p.m., Bowling Green police stopped Ann Jones at Family Dollar on Glen Lily Road when she tried to use fake movie $100 bills to load a CashApp card—officers later found 40 more fake bills and charged her with 50 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, five counts of attempted theft by deception and one count of operating on a suspended or revoked license.  WNKY
  • Kentucky state police ask for help finding David Bennett, a 48 year old man wanted for first degree bail jumping who stands 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs about 170 pounds, has brown hair and hazel eyes, and was last seen in the Franklin and Bowling Green areas; anyone with information should call KSP post 3 at 2707822010.  WNKY

  • Warren County Public Schools started the new school year today — using 'From our nest to the world' as its theme for students returning to class.  WBKO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Eight part-time firefighters began work on Monday for the volunteer fire departments in Richardsville and Alvaton, and the Alvaton team responded to four calls by Monday afternoon — county officials plan to add two more teams by Sept. 1 to improve fire coverage. The changes follow county studies and equipment updates to support the new daytime coverage.  Bowling Green Daily News
