- ➤ A Hart County man, 45-year-old Michael House from Munfordville, was arrested on Wednesday after a traffic stop on East Cherry Street in Glasgow when officers found methamphetamine and a loaded syringe and he resisted arrest by spitting on an officer and threatening to kill them—he now faces charges including driving with a suspended license, drug possession, resisting arrest, and terroristic threatening. - ➤ Foundation Christian Academy opened its new Falcons Nest preschool building on July 31st at 2480 Three Springs Road at a cost of 6 million dollars, and the 22000 square foot facility is designed to serve 128 students with a capacity for 160, with classes set to begin on Aug. 7th. The ribbon-cutting event was attended by local officials (including Mayor Todd Alcott) and community leaders, and the expansion will ease campus traffic and allow for future growth. - ➤ Deputy Chief Penny Bowles said the new joint training facility for the Bowling Green Police and Fire Departments opened Friday, August 1 after 20 years of planning and now offers a stable training site along Porter Pike — the $16 million project replaces an old fire station and includes plans for backup dispatch upgrades in the fall. Demolition of the old Station 5 began on July 29 and will continue for a few weeks before the lot is turned into a parking area. Bowling Green Daily News
