  • Kentucky State Police are searching in Bowling Green for 53-year-old Alisa Slaven, wanted on charges of methamphetamine possession and absconding parole supervision—she is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 205 pounds and has partially gray hair and green eyes, and anyone with information should call KSP Post 3 at 270-782-2010.  WNKY

  • Today, Ashlee Wilson and Shalana Page reported on the Shake Rag Festival in Bowling Green—an event that supports and honors the city’s local history.  WNKY
  • Hardin Planetarium at WKU is hosting 'The Dark Side of the Moon: 50 Years in a Heartbeat' at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Fridays plus some Saturdays, with the event serving as a fundraiser for the 60th anniversary of WKU’s Ogden College of Science and Engineering and the planetarium’s 60th anniversary in 2027.  WNKY

  • The new Warren Elementary opened July 28 with audio enhancements, attached bathrooms and a storm-proof gym built to shelter the community during emergencies. Officials said the $43 million facility on Brookwood Drive—soon to be on Charolais Avenue—can house 850 students and more.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • The Boys & Girls Club of Bowling Green introduced its first AT&T Connected Learning Center on its 75th anniversary, donating 75 laptops to give students better digital access. Club officials and AT&T said the center will help students become digital-ready for the future — a plan that may lead to more similar programs.  WBKO

HEALTH NEWS

  • Hundreds will gather on September 14th at Bowling Green Hot Rod Stadium to support mental health awareness and suicide prevention as the free Out of the Darkness Walk—organized by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention—invites families and individuals to share their stories.
