  • A plane ran off the runway at Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport on July 18 and left one person trapped on Lovers Lane—fire and police crews responded to the scene.  WBKO

CRIME NEWS

  • Two Indiana men, Derek Lucas aged 27 and Rylan Wiles aged 23, pleaded guilty to charges for facilitation of first-degree robbery and burglary in a 2019 home invasion that killed Justin Wix—Wiles also pleaded guilty to a contraband charge and will face sentencing on Oct 14.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • A wanted Owensboro man, 62-year-old Donald Adams, was arrested Friday, July 18 at the Mint Gaming Hall in Warren County—deputies located a .45 revolver in his vehicle and served active arrest warrants totaling over $200,000.  WBKO

  • Local officials and business representatives turned the dirt on the Echo Trail affordable housing development on July 16, promising new housing to help replace units lost in the 2021 tornado. The $75 million project by LDG Development — part of a $130 million affordable housing effort — will offer 256 one-, two- and three-bedroom units for 800 to 900 residents and is set to open in June 2026.  Bowling Green Daily News
