- ➤ Lloyd Fields settled his lawsuit against Simpson County Sheriff's Office deputy Stephen Burke, who shot him in the head during a 2022 pursuit, after a settlement conference last month—Fields said he was glad to put the matter behind him while the settlement terms remain confidential.
