  • Guests left their mark on the nearly complete St. Jude Dream Home during a floor signing event held last Thursday in Southern Warren County. The $440,000 home will be raffled in two months and those who buy tickets before Friday will have a chance to win a seven-night beach villa stay—proceeds support families with St. Jude patients.  WBKO
  • Bike4Alz — a cross-country ride started by WKU’s Chi Eta chapter to support Alzheimer’s research — returned to Bowling Green on Monday after beginning in San Francisco on May 18. The 12-student team has raised nearly $65,000 as of July 8 and will complete its 3,600-mile journey in Virginia Beach on July 27.  College Heights Herald
  • Attorney Flora Templeton Stuart has spent over 50 years breaking barriers as one of Bowling Green’s first female trial lawyers—she continues to serve her community through active legal practice and local nonprofits.  WNKY
  • The Pregnancy Support Center at 1439 Magnolia St will close July 16 after 40 years of offering free support and resources to nearly 17,000 clients—its founding director, 83-year-old Don Fricks, will retire as services end. BUSINESS NEWS

  • Two Bowling Green companies—BumptUp Labs Inc. and Caza Innovations LLC—received a share of $750,000 in state matching grants from Kentucky’s SBIR/STTR program to support job growth and tech development. The funds will match part of $6.4 million in federal awards to help fund projects in areas from maternal health to advanced optical testing.  WBKO

CRIME NEWS

  • Gemonee Brown, a realtor (31), was arrested on June 27 after 11 women said he sexually harassed them and he faces charges of Unlawful Imprisonment and three counts of Sexual Abuse, 1st Degree (next court date is July 21).  WBKO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lauren Griffing is named president of Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky and will assume her role on Aug. 4—she served as the organization’s director of education and expanded student programs across 13 counties.  WNKY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Warren County fiscal court approved a nearly $2 million purchase of a warehouse-style building near the airport for a permanent regional emergency operations center. Emergency management director Ronnie Pearson said the center will receive a $3 million upgrade for safe room features and host local, state, and federal agencies — with offices moving in early 2026 — to boost disaster response.  WKYU-FM

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health officials have confirmed eight measles cases in two counties and urged vaccination for infants, people with weakened immune systems, and those with autoimmune conditions since Todd County lies less than an hour from Bowling Green. Med Center Health physician Dr. Suman Shekar warned that measles is very contagious—more so than COVID and the flu—and advised anyone with symptoms like rash, sore throat, and high fever to quarantine and seek care.  WNKY
