- ➤ On Wednesday, June 25th, Ernesto Manuel-Andres, an 18-year-old from Bowling Green, was welcomed outside Teranga Academy by about 100 supporters after spending 20 days in detention in Monroe, Louisiana. He was released on a $1,500 bond and will attend further hearings as the community stands firmly by him — a sign of local support. Bowling Green Daily News
- ➤ The third annual Duncan Hines Days held from June 1-8 drew about 13,000 people across 19 events, though one event was moved because of rain—keeping the celebration on track. Local planners worked with over 70 partners and boosted small businesses by over $2 million, and they are already planning new events for next year. WNKY
- ➤ As the heat rises this week, local partners have opened cooling centers to help homeless residents, with all Warren County Public Library branches offering charging stations, computers, and free shuttles. - ➤ Jury selection began Tuesday morning at the Warren County Justice Center for the second trial in the Crystal Rogers case, where two defendants face charges related to her disappearance and presumed death. The pool of 132 prospective jurors was questioned about their awareness of the case—defense lawyer Brian Butler asked that some jurors be stricken because of prior exposure, with the trial set to last 10 days. - ➤ Graysin Slade moved the Julie Morris Foundation—named for his late mother—to Bowling Green to provide free music lessons to children. The nonprofit will host a spring concert at WKU to offer more music opportunities. WNKY
- ➤ Eight students were awarded $1,000 scholarships by Farmers RECC—most are from Barren and Hart Counties. The funds can be used for tuition, fees, housing, textbooks, and other educational supplies. WBKO
- ➤ Warren County Public Schools need bus drivers to cover more than a dozen routes for summer school and other programs while maintaining high safety standards—Chip Jenkins said applicants must pass a background check and complete training. The district will host a job fair on July 19 from 8-11 a.m. at 800 Brookwood Drive. WBKO

- ➤ The Bowling Green-Warren County Metropolitan Planning Organization is updating the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan and is accepting community input until July 25 to guide improvements in safety and mobility.
