EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Council on Postsecondary Education approved a $420 tuition and fee increase for resident students at Western Kentucky University, Eastern Kentucky University and Murray State University for the 2025-26 school year—each university's Board of Regents had already approved the change. EKU will raise fees from $10,020 to $10,440, MSU from $9,900 to $10,320 and WKU from $11,452 to $11,872 as fixed costs rise. WCLU Radio

- ➤ Attorney General Russell Coleman announced that a new settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family brought Kentucky $73.1 million, adding to over $1 billion recovered from opioid claims. Half of the funds will go to the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission while the rest will be shared with cities and counties—boosting support for prevention and recovery programs.
