  • Atomic Kitchen—the new 1980s-themed restaurant—opens a two-week soft opening today in Downtown Bowling Green and will hold a grand opening with games and events on June 27 while owner Eric Leach works to serve the local lunch crowd near the old Mariah’s location across from Hot Rods Stadium.  WBKO

CRIME NEWS

  • A trial date has been set for three men facing charges in connection with the July death of WKU student Ayanna Morgan after she was assaulted at Muse apartments in Bowling Green — the trial is scheduled to begin on July 8 at 9 a.m.  WNKY

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Governor Andy Beshear announced at the Louisville Slugger Museum that 2024 set a new tourism record in Kentucky, marking the third record-breaking year with strong contributions from Warren County and local businesses. He said he will work to build on this trend to create more jobs and support families in the commonwealth—promising continued growth in tourism.  WNKY

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On June 5, the Environmental Compliance Division reviewed the Comprehensive Climate Action Plan—designed to cut greenhouse gas emissions—and gathered community input on selected measures for transportation, energy and waste. Environmental Manager Matt Powell said the plan will help reduce emissions in Bowling Green and the surrounding four-county region.  WBKO
