- ➤ Bowling Green ended Duncan Hines Days on Saturday, June 7 at Circus Square Park with steady crowds enjoying live music and food trucks — the festival also featured outdoor video walls, kids' play areas and murals — and was organized by city, county and community groups to boost the local economy. - ➤ Glasgow police say they found Corey Tomlinsion (36, from Indiana) passed out in a vehicle on Columbia Avenue on Sunday, determined the car was stolen from Elizabethtown, and arrested him on charges for receiving stolen property over $10,000, possessing a controlled substance and marijuana, and public intoxication. - ➤ Glasgow police say 34-year-old convicted felon Clayton Button was hurt and arrested after he entered a Lexington Drive home with a gun and a fight led officers to tie him up—resulting in a charge for carrying a gun as a felon—on Sunday. WBKO

- ➤ Bowling Green’s Warren County Public Library director Court Stevens has just released her 10th novel, Tell Me Something Good, marking her debut in adult fiction after writing young adult books for many years. The novel features a local nod with a town named Bent Tree (a familiar setting) and is inspired by her personal loss (the passing of her father). WNKY
- ➤ The WKU Bands will celebrate 100 years with their Summer Twilight Concert Series, starting with a concert at 8 p.m. June 12 at Downing Student Union Auditorium that will feature a mix of 1940s swing tunes & marches by Sousa. - ➤ Bowling Green will host a graduation ceremony on Friday, June 13 at noon at the Sloan Convention Center to honor the largest graduating class of the Academy for New Americans, a program developed to train new citizens for city government. The 36 participants, representing 13 countries and speaking 21 languages, will complete the program with a final volunteer session at Habitat for Humanity on Thursday, June 12 (half constructing a new home and half working at the ReStore).
