  • Down Syndrome of Southern KY's Buddy House received an $850,000 grant to build a new 8,000 sqft facility on Great Escape Dr. Construction will begin in 2027 as the non-profit raises additional funds + expands services for children and adults.  WKYU-FM

  • Tuesday's SOKY Speaks featured Ashlee Wilson and Sandy Roberts Dunn from The Barn Lot Theater discussing their upcoming production of Steel Magnolias.  WNKY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Western Kentucky’s softball team placed four players on CSC’s Academic All-District list Tuesday as Erica Houge, Morgan Sharpe, Maci Masters and Jenna Blanton met the GPA requirement for honors. Blanton and Houge were selected as CSC Academic All-American finalists and will move on to the national ballot.  Bowling Green Daily News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Bowling Green Police Department will host its biannual recruitment open house on Thursday, June 4 at the David Whitson Public Safety Training Center. Community members can meet officers, tour police vehicles, and ask questions about the police academy and training facility.  WBKO

HEALTH NEWS

  • Last Tuesday, local leaders met at The Capitol after screening 'Food, Insecure' to discuss food insecurity and new relief ideas. Organizers from Hunger Free BG examined solutions such as subsidized bus passes and better transit with local groups (including Feeding America KY and the Community Foundation) to lower food costs.  Bowling Green Daily News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Franklin-Simpson beat Warren East 5-3 on Monday, May 25 at WKU Softball Complex with a late sixth-inning rally. The Lady Cats will face South Warren in the Region 4 semifinals (today, 7:30 p.m.)  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Greenwood Gators rallied in the third inning to secure a 2-1 win against ACS at Nick Denes Field on Monday (advancing to Tuesday’s semifinals against Franklin-Simpson).  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Bowling Green defeated Barren County 6-2 in the Fourth Region Baseball Tournament, with key plays from Price Thompson, Colten Wilson, and Jax Vincent. The regional contest showcased strong pitching and hitting throughout the game.  WCLU Radio
