- ➤ Operation Anvil returned to Bowling Green this Memorial Day weekend at Phil Moore Park + 168 WWII reenactors from nine states re-created a battle scene to honor those who served, organized by Honor Our Heroes. WBKO
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Warren County Public Schools is offering the Sun Meal program that gives breakfast and lunch for students 18 and under at the School Bus Cafe and school sites in June and July. Parents or guardians can pick up meals and must verify their home address to support future funding. WBKO

- ➤ The Bowling Green Fire Department is hosting a recruitment open house tomorrow from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Public Safety Training Center on Porter Pike — a second open house is set for June 30 — and applications are accepted online through July 12. WNKY
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Bowling Green Hot Rods beat Asheville 5—3 at Bowling Green Ballpark on Sunday, May 24. The team swept the series and now embarks on a two-week, 12-game road trip starting Tuesday at Hudson Valley. Bowling Green Daily News
- ➤ Bowling Green Hot Rods earned a 6-4 win Saturday at Bowling Green Ballpark (three RBIs by Emilien Pitre spurred the comeback) but a rain-affected game was postponed and will be rescheduled during the upcoming series in Asheville. Bowling Green Daily News
- ➤ South Warren senior Luke Roner won a state championship in the 400-meter run at the KHSAA Class 3A meet in Lexington Saturday. He posted a time of 48.64 seconds and finished fourth in the 200, earning the lone state title among local athletes. Bowling Green Daily News
