  • BRADD and the Warren County Fiscal Court secured $850,000 to fund the new DSSKY Buddy House at 5520 Scottsville Road in Bowling Green (a nonprofit center that will offer expanded education and support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families).  WNKY
  • Community members gathered Wednesday to dedicate the Barren River Bridge to local leader Mike Murphy — a man whose work in construction and community investment still inspires Bowling Green.   • Hunger Free BG hosted its first event at The Capitol on Tuesday where a documentary (Food, Insecure) was shown at 6:30 p.m. followed by a panel discussion with local leaders stressing the need for better-paying jobs and coordinated food support.  College Heights Herald
  • During National Foster Care Month, NECCO shared resources to help young people in Bowling Green transition from foster care — nearly 9,000 Kentuckians depend on these services.   • The Trojanettes won the 15th District Championship Game (4-2) over Warren East with key plays from pitcher Shea Bogue and teammates like Lily Elmore and Addie Wheeler.  WCLU Radio
  • Tuesday's district tournaments saw Butler County baseball capture District 12 with a 10-7 win as Eli Oaks went 3-for-3 and scored three runs, sending the team to Region 3; Barren County baseball (10-1), Franklin-Simpson baseball (5-2) and Barren County softball (4-2) also advanced to Region tournaments.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • South Warren junior Haydon Bird led his lacrosse team to a 9-6 win by scoring back-to-back goals when his team trailed during a state tournament game against Louisville Collegiate last week.   • Warren East junior pitcher Autumn Brooks threw a complete-game shutout on Monday to secure a 6-0 win against Allen County-Scottsville in the District 15 semifinal.   • Senior shortstop McLaine Hudson set a new home run record with her 25th round tripper in South Warren's 17-0 District 14 championship win over Greenwood Tuesday, May 19 at South Warren High School, helping her team complete their flawless season in their final home game.  Bowling Green Daily News
