  • The Bowling Green Fire Department held a paver ceremony at Fire Station 7 (on Lovers Lane) Wednesday to honor fallen and retired firefighters from Bowling Green and Warren County. Fire Chief Justin Brooks said the engraved pavers serve as a lasting tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.  WNKY

  • Michael Jordan’s 1993 Corvette ZR-1 now shines at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. The car, featuring a 40th Anniversary package in Ruby Red (with matching seats), was loaned by its owner and will remain on display until spring.  Bowling Green Daily News

  • Debra Hughes (Red Cross Elementary) and Shelby Boggs (North Jackson Elementary) received the prestigious WKU Distinguished Educator Award Tuesday from WKU’s College of Education and Behavioral Sciences.   • Western Kentucky men’s basketball coach Hank Plona announced yesterday the signing of 6-foot-9 rising senior Emondrek Erkins-Ford from Jax State to join the 2026-27 roster, praising his efficient scoring and rebounding in Conference-USA.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • WKU will renovate the Charles M. Ruter Track and Field Complex this summer, replacing the track with a new gray urethane surface + red exchange zones to meet NCAA standards, with work expected to finish in August.   • Haris Shahbaz won the boys’ individual regional tennis title for South Warren at Warren Central High School on Friday, defeating Greenwood’s Ethan Prop 6-1, 6-3. The top-seeded freshman will compete in the state tournament starting May 20.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • South Warren senior Sol-Francesca Poole won the girls’ singles region title with a 6-0, 6-1 win at Warren Central High School on Friday and will compete in the state tournament later this month.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Butler County's softball team beat Warren East 6 to 5 on Tuesday at Warren East High School as they rallied from an early deficit — coach Amy Rogers praised the team's grit in the final week of the regular season.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • South Warren’s boys lacrosse team edged Louisville Collegiate 9 to 6 yesterday at South Warren High School after Haydon Bird’s quick two-goal surge + Brendan Bird’s winning faceoff goal clinched a state tournament win; the Spartans will face St. Xavier on Saturday.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • South Warren junior Camden Page homered and drove in three runs Tuesday for the Spartans in their 10-3 win over Logan County, with Jacob Lobb pitching six innings and striking out six. Local teams also secured wins as Bowling Green heads to Campbellsville on Thursday.  Bowling Green Daily News
