  • Down Syndrome of Southern Kentucky hosted an informational meeting (Tuesday night from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) at The Buddy House to launch its first Adaptive Girl Scout Troop for local women and girls. Interested attendees completed a survey to choose which day the troop will meet.  WNKY
  • The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual Excellence Awards Luncheon today to honor community leaders — Penny Bowles of the police department received the ATHENA Award, Justin Gearlds of RENEW by Optimum Rejuvenation was named Small Business Person of the Year, Jessica Carver of the College Heights Foundation earned the ATHENA Young Professional Award, and TimeSavers Caregiving & Concierge along with Kentucky Kids on the Block also received honors.  WBKO

  • KSP Post 4 is joining Operation C.A.R.E. from May 12th through May 26th—an effort to boost seat belt use and cut traffic risks during the busy Memorial Day period, with troopers checking for violations on highways and local roads.  WBKO

  • Two Bowling Green police officers, advanced police officer Miranda Rone + officer Jeff Ward, were recognized Monday at the National Association of Police Organizations Top Cop Awards Banquet in Washington, D.C.
