  • Duncan Hines Days will return from June 1—8 with new events for residents; the celebration opens with the Fountain Square Nostalgic Block Party on Sunday from 1–3 p.m., offering carnival foods and easy listening music.   • Bowling Green Police say 42-year-old Charles D. Girdler died after his motorcycle crashed near Registry Apartments just after 8 p.m. on Monday night—when another driver turning left into a parking lot struck him.  WBKO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Tennessee Valley Authority announced over $2.3 million in funding for energy and classroom upgrades at local schools. Bowling Green High School, Edmonson County 5th/6th Center, Edmonson County Middle, and North Warren Elementary each received $10,000—TVA plans to enroll up to 120 new schools in its School Uplift program.  WNKY
  • Cherry Hall renovation plans released on May 1 have sparked protest by community members and alumni who worry the design will remove the building’s historic look. WKU says the project, funded with $75 million + a 15% match by Western, will preserve key features while modernizing classrooms and is set to finish in 2027.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Eighty-nine WKU nursing students will graduate on May 9 at the E.A. Diddle Arena. The students, inspired by the challenges of COVID 19, will begin their nursing careers with a strong commitment—promising to care for every patient.  WNKY
