  • A new NEA report shows Kentucky teachers saw a 3.7% increase to $60,594 last year while real wages dropped 5% over the past decade because there has been no full raise since 2008, and staffing shortages in schools may worsen without higher pay.  WBKO
  • Med Center Health Foundation awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to 10 local students for the 2026-27 academic year — seven awards cover recipients at WKU, local high schools, and colleges across south-central Kentucky.  WNKY
  • Young Girl Scouts were honored at the Houchens Program Center on Sunday for their service and leadership as they received Silver Award recognition and marked milestones before graduating high school.   • Public works crews began hydro excavation on Chestnut Street between East Fourth Avenue and U.S. 31-W Bypass yesterday to prepare for a replacement project — officials say the work will continue for two weeks.  WNKY
  • Warren County Judge-Executive Doug Gorman called the BG2050 study report 'very, very encouraging' during a fiscal court meeting last Thursday — the multi-year study gathered over 1 million community inputs to outline nine key initiatives on education, infrastructure, and quality of life for future growth.  Bowling Green Daily News
