  • White Squirrel Brewery hosted a dog show fundraiser on Sunday to raise funds for the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society. The event featured competitions (best tricks, best costumes, look-alike duos) and a portion of sales went toward providing warmth and shelter for shelter animals.  WBKO

  • A Bowling Green reporter shared local memories from historical figures during a Barnes and Noble book signing and a talk at the Barren County Historical Society discussing the 1970 Bowling Green Five.   • Warren County magistrates approved an ordinance creating the Nashville Road development district to support new Publix— the county will rebate 75% of property taxes to STNL Nashville Road, LLC for roadway, traffic, and utility upgrades until it ends after 15 years or $4 million in rebates.  Bowling Green Daily News

  • BGISD board members met last month to review enrollment trends, security upgrades + new technology like keyless entry and cameras, and expanded student support services. SPORTS NEWS

  • South Warren’s track team swept the competition at Friday’s Purples Invitational in Bowling Green — the girls scored 123 points and the boys 124 while winning several relays and individual races.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Western Kentucky’s softball team lost 4 to 2 to Delaware Friday at the Delaware Softball Diamond in Newark; the team will face Delaware again Saturday at 2 p.m. on ESPN+.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Warren East’s Lady Raiders won two softball games this weekend, beating Edmonson County 9-5 on Friday and Elizabethtown 4-3 on Saturday. Other local teams played on Friday, with Glasgow set to host Barren County and Logan County to face Franklin-Simpson on Monday.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Hal Schmitt (the voice of WKU Men's Basketball) joined Doug Thompson of the Sporting Times on May 3 to discuss basketball and broadcasting in an in-depth interview that gives fans fresh local insight.  WBKO
  • Western Kentucky’s softball team ended its season with a 6-1 win over Delaware on Saturday, May 2 in Newark — improving their record to 37-12 overall and earning the No. 2 seed in the Conference USA tournament with a bye to day two.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • Barren County graduate and former Warren East coach Brandon Combs was named the new boys’ basketball coach at Metcalfe County on Friday. He brings experience from coaching at Menifee and Cumberland County — returning to the school where he first began his coaching career.  WCLU Radio
  • Bowling Green Hot Rods defeated the Rome Emperors 6-5 in extra innings after Angel Mateo doubled in the ninth (tying the game), and Junior Williams pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 innings in the 11th; the teams will meet again Saturday at 5:45 p.m. CT.  Bowling Green Daily News
