- ➤ Med Center Health will host its annual Expectant Parent Fair from 4 to 6 p.m. on May 7 at The Medical Center-WKU Health Sciences Complex, with exhibits, interactive booths, demonstrations and educational sessions on car seat safety, infant CPR, safe sleep and prenatal nutrition. - ➤ A woman was found dead after a structure fire at 8063 Kentucky 185 (Warren County) on Monday, April 28th at 6:55 p.m., and investigators from WCSO, BGFD and other agencies began a probe as her body was taken to the Louisville Medical Examiner’s Office. WBKO
- ➤ One person died after a fatal collision on Nashville Road (31-W) near Woodburn Allen Springs Road at 7 p.m. today; the road reopened and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out to the victim’s next of kin. WBKO

- ➤ On Thursday, a documentary about the lost Jonesville neighborhood titled 'Jonesville: When Sunflowers Fall' will be screened at Western Kentucky University’s Jody Richards Hall Auditorium with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. — a Q&A and reception will follow the one-hour screening from 6 to 7 p.m. Bowling Green Daily News

- ➤ Today, Rep. Brett Guthrie honored students from Barren County High School and Glasgow High School at the Barren County Innovation Zone for their achievement in the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Kentucky’s Second District. Barren County students Emmaline Phelps, Brooke Gibson and Cole Young won first place with their app Allergy AWARE—which is designed to help manage food allergies—while Glasgow student Danica Stephens placed fourth with her app Serving Society. - ➤ Mammoth Cave National Park sent a letter on April 15 to the Public Service Commission to oppose the Wood Duck Solar project in Barren County by Geenex — a Charlotte company that has not answered its questions on battery safety. The park warned chemical leaks could harm groundwater and 160 animal species that rely on the cave system. Bowling Green Daily News

- ➤ The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has started a project to restore the I-165 bridges over the Green River in Butler County by building a temporary traffic crossover—motorists will face long-term lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 55 mph during the work. Scott & Murphy Inc. received an $18.7 million contract, and new bridge decks and walls will be constructed with the project set for completion in fall. WNKY
