  • A fire broke out in an apartment on Angora Court on Thursday morning and prompted immediate response from fire, police, and EMS crews to evacuate residents and control the blaze—officials say an investigation into its cause will continue.  WBKO

CRIME NEWS

  • Tiffany McCoy, 39, pleaded guilty in Warren Circuit Court Tuesday to a charge of first degree wanton endangerment for her role in neglecting Jazzmyne Rose Fikes, 44, whose body was found severely malnourished in a Bowling Green home (she is on probation for five years and faces a seven year prison term if she violates its terms).  Bowling Green Daily News
  • A Bowling Green man pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence and was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison for fatally shooting Gregorio Alberto Jimenez during a drive-by on Glen Lily Road in 2021—his confession was confirmed by court testimony.  Bowling Green Daily News

  • News 40’s Ashlee Wilson interviewed Bill Oldham, the executive director of Community Education, about the Summer Activities Fair at Bowling Green Ballpark today that offers free Hot Rods game tickets to families and vendors who sign in by 6 p.m. The fair will provide free summer program information for children in grades K-12 and is co-sponsored by Community Education, Bowling Green High School Youth Services Center, Natcher Elementary Family Resource Center, and the Hot Rods.  WNKY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City commissioners met with local residents on April 17 to review damage from historic flooding that followed over 10 inches of rain in a four-day storm. Marshall Beach, who runs Hog Wild BBQ on Cave Mill Road, said his home and business suffered nearly $40,000 in damage and he needs FEMA aid—without flood insurance, he may be forced to sell his property amid planned road widening.  Bowling Green Daily News
