- ➤ The Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center in Bowling Green is hosting events and volunteer opportunities in April to raise awareness on child abuse. Community Outreach Coordinator Ashley Hardin said that 90% of abused children know their abuser—three children in every Kentucky classroom have been sexually abused, urging community members to take action. - ➤ Hope Harbor hosted the annual Take Back the Night event at Fountain Square Park in Bowling Green on Saturday, April 12, where sexual assault survivors shared personal stories and poems and later joined a candlelight vigil—community groups and campus organizations provided support through free resources and activities. - ➤ Bowling Green city streets will have one lane open for repairs from today through Wednesday as AT&T works on manhole excavation on parts of East 10th Street and State Street. The city said local parking is available on Chestnut and State Streets and motorists will be directed using message boards, cones, and barrels. WNKY
- ➤ Officials are holding a public meeting Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary School gymnasium to gather input on the Veterans Memorial project that will add a roundabout at the intersection of Veterans Memorial, Old Barren River Road and Victoria Street along with a raised median and refuge islands to improve safety — the project has received $11 million in grant funds and right-of-way work will begin before construction starts in one and a half to two years.
