  • Hope Harbor will host the annual 'Take Back the Night' event from 5-8 p.m. today at Fountain Square Park and The Capitol as part of Sexual Assault Prevention Month. The event will feature survivor storytelling, a candlelight vigil, resource booths, and family-friendly activities—designed to empower survivors to share their voices.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • 3-H Farms in Bowling Green is hosting its fifth annual Easter egg hunt today with the first hunt starting at 10 a.m. and a special needs hunt beginning at noon while the Easter bunny will be there for photos.  WNKY

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Heavy rains dumped over 10 inches of rain last weekend in Warren County and raised Lost River Cave's water level—about 60 feet above normal—forcing crews to begin cleanup on April 10. The park will resume tours mid-next week while repairs estimated at between $15,000 and $20,000 are scheduled after the storm caused significant damage.  Bowling Green Daily News

  • A highway safety project has begun on Interstate 165 at exit 7 U.S. 231 Morgantown Road in Bowling Green and drivers may notice changes in traffic patterns. The work zone now has a 35-mph limit and one lane in each direction will close starting Tuesday, April 15 — the project will finish later this fall.  WNKY
  • More than 20 union members from the Kentucky State AFL+CIO and the regional bricklayers union protested WKU's hiring of WASCO from Nashville on April 10; union rep Kyle Reinstedler said the protest aimed to secure talks on meeting local wage and benefit standards for the new Hilltopper Fieldhouse and Press Box.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • City leaders from Bowling Green and Warren County met on Friday to review record flooding that damaged almost 200 structures, caused over $6 million in losses, and left four main city streets blocked. Officials said FEMA has been on scene all week and that the city has applied for a disaster declaration while a Community Recovery Center will open Monday at Michael O. Buchanon Park—providing services and free transportation to flood victims.  WNKY
