  • Today on Sunrise Spotlight, News 40's Ashlee Wilson interviewed Mikayla Patterson from BRADD+who discussed a meal program for seniors in need. The program is supported by the Barren River Area Development District+and aims to provide local seniors with essential meals.  WNKY
  • The White Squirrel Arts Fest will be held on Saturday, April 26 in Bowling Green’s historic Shake Rag district, centering on White Squirrel Brewery and extending later to Shake Rag Bar & Lounge for an adults-only Poetry Slam. The free event will offer indoor and outdoor art vendor fairs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (with a new Fashion Show by WKU Fashion, Inc. at 4 p.m.) along with live musical and literary performances.  SOKY Happenings

  • Melinda Whitfield Gilbert opened her 3,000-square-foot eatery Vistro on March 17 at 937 College St.—the only vegetarian restaurant she knows of downtown. The restaurant serves mostly vegan meals made with local produce and will add breakfast and dinner options as it expands.  Bowling Green Daily News

CRIME NEWS

  • Sarah D’Auria, 27, pleaded guilty on March 13 to charges of stealing medical supplies and planning to sell drugs and faces up to 16 years in prison, a $350,000 fine and 3 years of supervised release—her sentencing is set for June 9 in Bowling Green.  WCLU Radio
  • Attorney David Broderick asked the court to restore the dismissed wrongful death suit from Jeremy Marr’s estate against three Glasgow Police officers—saying that body camera footage does not show clearly if Marr resisted arrest on April 14.  Bowling Green Daily News
  • A Bowling Green woman, Marlynn Elias, accused of leaving the scene after her SUV hit and killed pedestrian Kimberly Howard in the 100 block of Riverwood Avenue made her first court appearance on Monday and was sent to Warren County Regional Jail on a $25,000 cash bond (she is 48) for charges of not stopping to help and driving without a license (the crash happened on Saturday).  Bowling Green Daily News
